I worked today on my felt ornaments. I have to say it is way easier to embroider on a larger piece of fabric and if I were ever to make these again, I think I would find a way to embroider them before cutting them out. But I am liking the little guys. Except for Santa. I'm not sure about him. Does his beard look like an evil toothy grin or is it just me? Maybe I have Halloween on the brain! I am pleased that I had the notion to stuff them with scraps of fleece I had left over from making mittens for charity. I knew there was a reason I wasn't throwing them out!
I have also worked this week on yo-yos for a wall quilt for an exchange I am in. I am basing it on the pattern found here. The one in the pattern is larger than mine will be. The exchange is for a 16x16 to 20x20 quilt. Mine might be bigger than that depending on the proportions. This blue fabric may not be the one I use, but I wanted to get a feel for it. The "star", the snow flakes and those little packs of lights are from the sale at Joann. Buttons were buy one get one, so I did.
I know I need more green and I am contemplating some gold, too. I bought more green today at the sale. Well, the fat quarters were on sale!
One last thing. I don't knit but I found this pattern for a knitted stocking and I really thought it was cute. Maybe some of you can use it.
