More quilt blocks have arrived!!
I received another leaf/tree block…
And here they all are together…
I had originally planned a quilt for these. But now I am actually contemplating throw pillows… I’ll have to think on it some more.
And I received two more chili pepper blocks.
Here is my whole group of chili blocks…
Isn’t that quilt just going to radiate warmth? This is not a pattern I would normally have chosen, or probably these colors, either, but I am so pleased with these choices!
Did you know there is a Goodwill auction site online? Who knew? Well, at least one of you did because I read about it on your blog and that’s how I found out about it. Sorry I don’t remember which blog that was, but thanks for the info. Anyhow, I do feel the shipping is a little steep, but if you don’t overbid, I guess it evens out. I bid on and won a box of fabric scraps and included were these upholstery samples…
I took them apart and cut away the ends with the grommets and then sewed them all back together randomly and ended up with this…
It measures around 40 x 60 inches and is going to be a floor pillow for the dogs. Now I either need to find another lot of upholstery samples, or I can use my 40% off coupon and get some cheap from Joann Fabric. I happen to really like this piece. I don’t like the way the colors show in this photo – the creams are really much creamier and the colors are warm and earthy in person.

I did not know that goodwill has an auction site... oh boy! I will check it out tonight. I passed over some fabric samples last week in the thrift store. If they are still there when I go back, I'll get them for you. I love your chili pepper blocks... the colors all match so nicely. Your tree and leaf blocks are pretty too... those will be fun!

What a great puppy pillow. My dogs won't share unless they absolutely have to. And, sometimes they do. Brats. Love you Hot Chili Blocks. So cool. I mean so Hot.

Hey Melissa! Those leaf and tree blocks are so cool, and I like the idea of making them into pillows. And you scored big on that box of fabrics. I think you read about the Goodwill auction site on my blog...that's where I got my new (old) Viking 21A. I love that site! :o)
